Paul R. Strain, 68, former restaurant operator here, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday. A native of Vermillion County, he was a son of William and Mary McNorton Strain and was born Aug 10, 1898. He attended school in Crawfordsville and was married in 1917 to Viola Caldwell. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Strain had been unable to work the last 12 years. Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Brown of Grosse Point, Mich and five grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, Paul Strain Jr. four months ago Tuesday and 5 brothers and sisters. Funeral services are announced for 1 p.m. Thursday at Powers Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Milo Riggs will be in charge of services and internment will be in Indian Creek Cemetery. - kbz
